SUE Crew Leader I

 

Duties and Responsibilities


Supervises SUE crew members and oversees the collection and depiction of subsurface utilities information by field and in-house personnel. Adapts standard procedures or equipment as necessitated by site conditions or as dictated by client deliverable specifications. Responsible for checking technical adequacy of work completed by crew members in order to assure accurate and certifiable deliverables. Performs Utility Coordination duties and prepares technical reports. Maintains and updates CECS's manuals on standard SUE procedures and processes.
 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

• High school graduate and a minimum of 5 years applicable job experience.

• Graduation from an acceptable technical school or satisfactory completion of portion of college/university engineering curriculum may be substituted for 1 year of experience.

• Must be proficient in all SUE designating and locating equipment and meet all internal or external certifications for performance of SUE work.

• Administers field certification tests to crew members to assess and certify SUE skills.

• Must be knowledgeable of Utility Coordination procedures, processes, and report preparation.

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.

• Computer literacy required.

• Good people and communication skills required.


Work Environment

 

Outdoors environment with various weather conditions, travel, overnight stays out-of-town, and office work as dictated by workloads.



Roadway & Bridge Inspectors


CECS is currently seeking Roadway and Structures field technicians for highway and heavy civil projects. These positions will be providing inspection, material testing and sampling for quality control and acceptance per project requirements. Compensation will be hourly and based on qualifications and experience.
 

Duties and Responsibilities

Candidates will be required to perform work under all weather conditions, traffic and possible night time shifts. The shifts hours and project responsibilities will vary per project assignment and contractor's schedule.
 

Qualifications

• SCDOT certifications for Earthwork & Bases, Asphalt Roadway, Foundations, PCC Level 1&2 and ACI Field Technician Field Level 1 are recommended but other state or national current certifications will be considered.

• At least 1 year of construction inspection experience is required.

• Candidates essential abilities needed are: the ability to read plans and specifications, perform physical abilities necessary to perform job task, must pass a Motor Vehicle License check and High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Environmental Planner / Scientist

 

POSITION SUMMARY:


CECS, a Columbia-based firm, is seeking an Environmental Planner/Scientist for a permanent opening.
 

Applicant should be:

 

• Have experience with state and federal environmental regulations (particularly with Clean Water Act permitting);

• Be comfortable performing ecological field surveys and wetland/stream delineations with our natural resources team;

• Author technical studies in support of, and contribute to, NEPA documents;

• Attend public meetings to help explain the environmental effects of transportation projects;

• Communicate effectively with resource agency personnel.

 

Education and Skills Requirements:

 

• Bachelor of Science degree

• Technical report writing

• GIS and GPS experience

• Five years of experience is preferred
